Review: Luna Moons

Luna Moons

Since I was only running 4-5 miles, I didn't take Luna Moons on the actual run that I did yesterday, but I did try the Pomegranate flavor in the car on the way as a 100-calorie breakfast/pre-run snack. Compared to Shot Bloks, they are smaller and lighter and therefore a lot easier to eat while running. I also found them to be a little bit softer. Flavor-wise, they're pretty similar to Shot Bloks.

Cons? Shot Bloks often contain caffeine, something that I've found that I really like while running. There are also only 3 flavors of Moons right now, offering less variety. Also, the "Luna" brand is synonymous with women's fitness, so men might shy away.

Hopefully, Luna will come out with some caffeinated flavors, but I think they're on the right track.
