HBBC Catch Up

HBBC Logo A while ago, I mentioned that I'm participating in the Holiday Bootie Buster Challenge.  (Am I the only one that thinks it should be spelled "Booty?")  Well, the challenge started on November 20th, and I have yet to seriously add up my points!  So, here we go.

(Btw, I have no plans to actually win this thing, I am up against some tough competition).

First off, Thanksgiving is the only day where I've managed the 7 vegetables/fruits in a day. I'm having a tough time tracking that one, because I am not currently keeping a food journal.

1 Point per mile (run/walk/snowshoe)
1 Point per 3 miles biked
1 Point per 20 minutes of weight lifting, Pilates, yoga, stretching or abs
1 Point per 15 minutes of another form of cardio (i.e. kick boxing, aerobics elliptical)
1 Per day where you reach a minimum of 7 servings of fruits and veggies

My points:

  • I started with 4 points for posting on my blog and on Facebook, and for adding the logo to my blog's menu.
  • November 20: 1 hour of weights = 3 points
  • November 21: 10K race = 6 points
  • November 22-24: Slack time!  No points.
  • November 25: 4 miles, 7 veggie/fruits! = 5 points
  • November 26: Slack time!  No points.
  • November 27: Making up for slack time!  2 hours weights = 6 points.
  • November 28: 5 miles = 5 points.
  • November 29: 1 hour weights = 3 points.
  • Today: No points yet.  I have to work tonight, so probably no points tonight.  I've had 3 servings of veggies/fruit so far today, so maybe I can get to 7!
Nov 20-26: 14 points total
Nov 27-today: 14 points total
Total for the challenge so far: 32 points!!

There were extra points available on Thanksgiving for having a family member work out with you, but I didn't see this until after Thanksgiving :(  If I'd known, I'd have made Todd get on the treadmill...

This point total is totally low compared to others...  Can we still mark the 7 veggie/fruit without a food journal?  I'm just not feeling the food journaling right now.

I'm having a hard time with the fruit/veggie servings too, and I'm a vegetarian! lol I just don't keep a food journal either and I want to think I am getting them because what else would I be eating, but I feel bad just giving myself the point when I don't have evidence. I'm not in this to win it either, just for the motivation and maybe I'll get lucky with the random prizes. Keep up the great work.

I don't keep a food journal so I've been keeping track of my points each day in an excel file I made. I reflect back on my food choices and see if I made the 7 servings. Sadly, I've only gotten that point a couple of times. I'm like you and in it for the extra motivation to keep my workouts up and maybe winning a random prize!
